er psychic friends didn't tell her this was coming.
Singer Dionne Warwick was arrested yesterday at Miami International Airport when baggage screeners found marijuana joints in her carry-on bag, police said.
Dionne Warwick allegedly had 11 joints in luggage at Miami airport.
Miami-Dade cops said authorities found 11 cigarettes hidden inside a lipstick case in Warwick's luggage.
The five-time Grammy Award winner known for such hits as "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" and in recent years as a pitchwoman for the bankrupt "Psychic Friends Network" hotline was charged yesterday with possessing less than 5 grams of marijuana, cops said.
Warwick, 61, of Miami Beach, missed her 7:30 a.m. flight to Los Angeles because of the incident. She was released after signing an affidavit promising to appear in court at a later date, Florida police said.
According to her Web site, Warwick is scheduled to perform in a series of concerts in the Caribbean in the next 10 days.
Warwick should have taken a cue from her famous cousin Whitney Houston, who faced remarkably similar allegations two years ago.
In January 2000, airport security officers in Hawaii allegedly found marijuana in Houston's bag.
She avoided being arrested by leaving the bag behind and walking on by before the cops arrived.
