After the hearing, Chong said he did not use drugs. "I don't smoke; I quit," he said. Well, I can see it now, the email continued, Cheech and Chong the white (my emphasis) comedians are forgiven but snoop is called a SELL-OUT! You KNOW that Tommy Chong is still smoking! What kind of hypocrite are you. I think YOU guys are the sell-outs! Speak Up or remove the Snoop page! If Tommy Chong is not a sell-out how the hell do you justify calling Snoop Dogg one? Hmmm..... Never expected an email like that! But since I have been sticking my neck out recently and speaking without thought to the consequence I "should" have been expecting it! And considering that the Snoop page it referenced came from some Hip-Hop sites AND it's the number one download from those sites, I did know my thoughts were getting out there. I get an email or two a day regarding it but most are either from Snoop haters or Snoop Lovers! Some just say "Right On" others "YOU SUCK". But this letter was thoughtfully composed. And it's from someone who stuck around to check out TOKE. And it was someone who thought they saw a flaw in my logic........ Think Again, Wise Sage, Think Again. As I write this I am burning my 2nd spliff of S.A.G.E. Sage is some fine ganja from the fine folks over at THSeeds. Its called S.A.G.E. not because of its Sage-y flavor but because THSeeds, being the cutting edge of New Age Genetics developed the Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium. And it contains one of my all time favorite strains Big Sur Holy Weed, my "Communion". So I broke open a "host" and rolled a communion spliff and read and thought on it. Lets forget that my Hip-Hop brother isn't really that well versed on Cheech and Chong. While they had a TREMENDOUS following with white stoner hippies they were ANYTHING but white! "I" am not white, although my fathers skin covers my body. So calling them white is not dealing with the facts. But I will allow that in the haste of writing he really meant "loved" by the white stoner community. That said lets look at the facts. Tommy Chong has NOT been sentenced. It is important that he watch what he says and does. (For another perspective:See Below). And MOST Important, he ONLY answered a question. He did NOT go out of his way to give interviews with the sole topic how he is clean. He didn't say it destroys brains cells. He did NOT take Snoops way. BUT, I feel it is important to point out AGAIN, like I did in the Snoop article, that I don't blame Snoop if he told people that he stopped smoking. It's NO-ONEs business if he smokes or not. What I and so many of his hard core fans objected to was the way he went out of his way to demonize the weed, to IGNORE it's a medicine, a sacrament, a source of fuel! And Snoop had done all of this AFTER he was sentenced! After he got what he was going to get! To put some perspective on this, recently, Callum Francis did an interview with Todd McMormick. Tommy Chong and whether or not he has stopped smoking pot was addressed. And Todd had a very interesting take on the situation!
